About WEGE

WEGE (Women Empowerment in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy) is a pioneering educational initiative founded by Dr. Nada El Domiaty — the first of its kind in the region to empower female physicians in GI endoscopy. Endorsed by the World Endoscopy Organization (WEO), the World Gastroenterology Organisation (WGO), and the Women in Endoscopy (WIE) association.

The WEGE program focuses on empowering young endoscopists through specialized training, emphasizing the importance of supporting and advancing professionals in this field especially females. Particularly in Egypt, there is a growing demand for skilled female endoscopists, and our goal is to foster a more inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the community we serve, with a focus on empowering all young endoscopists, which will in turn enhance healthcare outcomes.
